5 Fathers Day Gift Ideas

As you may know Father’s Day is this Sunday 16 June 2019! If you haven’t already sorted your pressie for your Daddy or for your Hubby, on behalf of the kids, then let me give you some gift suggestions!

Here are some small ideas to celebrate the special man in your life this Father’s Day!

      1. Skincare

Why not treat him to some nice skincare, as this is often something men don’t buy for themselves, it can be nice to treat them to something that can help them to look after their skin!

I spotted this lovely skincare gift set from the Darren Kennedy range reduced to only €25.00 at Shaws Department store (Portlaoise store).

     2. Clothing

It is always nice to treat himself to some style – so why not pick up a nice shirt, t- shirt or even just some socks!

I spotted lots of gift tables set up especially for Father’s Day in store at Shaws displaying lots of nice present ideas! If you are not already following me on Instagram then you can check out my Shaws June highlight for more on my in store visit!

You could go one step further and treat him to an entire new outfit – add a nice chinos or jeans with your shirt to complete the look!

All of the above shirts are available at Shaws stores

 3. Accessories

Accessories such as a wallet, a nice belt, a watch or a set of cuff links are all good options too!

Jewellery such as nice cuff links for a special occasion or a watch can be personalised which gives the present an added touch that he will love!

    4. Aftershave

Can you ever go wrong with a nice bottle of aftershave?! – there are lots of deals on fragrances in stores now for the weekend ahead!

What about this Joop set I spotted for only €30.00 at Shaws Department store!

This 100ml bottle of Hugo Boss is also on offer at Shaws for just €52.00.

     5. Grooming

What about a teeth whitening set – it seems now that our men are getting more and more interested in looking their best, so some extra grooming is always good!

This teeth whitening set from Spotlight looks great and again I found an offer on it for only €32.00.

I picked up a nice electric toothbrush for my Husband from our Daughter Isabelle which I thought was a great idea! Not exactly something he would want to buy for himself!

So as you can see there are lots and lots of gift ideas available in stores and online and so many for varying budgets too!

So no excuses not to find that perfect present for your Daddy or Hubby for this weekend!

You can find out more on my gift suggestions on my Instagram @thestyleflamingos - check out my Shaws June highlight section!

Happy shopping & happy father’s day to all of the lovely Daddies’ out there.

I miss my Daddy so much - he passed away in 2013. I want to send all my love to everyone else who is missing their Daddy too!  Our memories will always be with us!

Love

Arlene

Pamper time at The Residence Day Spa

Last weekend I was kindly invited to enjoy a pamper morning at The Residence Day Spa in Naas, Co. Kildare.

"In The Residence Day Spa style, you are transported to a magical world of relaxation!"

These are the words advertising the experience to be enjoyed at the day Spa. So on Saturday last I headed over for my treatments and to experience exactly what I thought the Spa had to offer.

From the moment I stepped inside the door it had this fantastic tranquil feeling and as a Mammy to an active 18 month old - this was bliss, 2 whole hours of peace and quiet!

Even before my treatment I was enchanted by the decor! It was so beautifully opulent - this immediately made me think, this is going to be fab!

Even the decor in the toilets were interior goals!

Also the girls in the spa were wonderful - so helpful and so friendly! While I waited I enjoyed relaxing music and a peaceful environment!

I noticed other groups of girls coming in for a morning out and thought this was a great idea for a girls morning out or a hens party!

Before I get into the treatments that I received I wanted to tell you a brief bit of detail about The Residence Day Spa. It is a place where you can enjoy healing, beautifying and luxurious treatments. The menu of treatment options is very wide - you can check out their website www.theresidencedayspa.ie for more info or visit my Instagram @thestyleflamingos and see my highlight section for more on what the spa has to offer.

What I also noticed and loved is that the spa is open 7 days a week (9am - 8pm) so lots of time options for busy parents or a busy work schedule! No excuses to get that much needed relaxing time!

Their luxury treatment offerings are so vast as they really aim to give a personalised treatment experience. There are many massage options including their Residence Signature Massage which involves a blend of deep tissue, therapeutic, Indian head Massage & aromatherapy massage techniques. Sounds incredible!

Whether you need a brightening boost or refreshing pick me up or just a deep cleanse - there is the perfect facial waiting for you! One I wanted to highlight was the Mamma Mia Nurturing Facial for the lovely Mums to be! Such a lovely gift idea! They use the most natural and organic products which are safe for Mum and baby! It aims to soothe hormone challenged skin while providing much needed relaxation. It also includes a foot and calf massage to ease swelling and discomfort. Just exactly what is needed when you are preparing for your baby to arrive!

They also offer skin peels, exfoliations & wraps, medi spa & a full men's treatment collection & so much more!

I really wanted to highlight the Medi Spa services as they sound amazing! Under these treatments you can avail of some Dermal fillers which are non surgical invasive treatments to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, to restore the volume to the areas of the face (cheeks, lips, jaw line etc). As someone in my mid 30's and someone who is constantly trying to resist the wrinkles, 😀 this sounds incredible!

There is a free consultation and they advise that results last anything between 4 months and up to 2 years depending on your type of filler and your lifestyle!

To give you an example of price - 1ml lip filler is €190!

You could opt for the Synergy eye revive and lift treatment or a Venus Freeze!
The Venus Freeze is the first and only comprehensive non - invasive solution for body contouring, cellulite and circumference reduction, wrinkle reduction and skin tightening for the face, neck and body! A single face treatment is €89 and 8 facial treatments are €534. There are varying costs for body, arms, eyes, neck etc. Sounds so good doesn't it? 😁

On my visit, I received the Spring Revival Package - I really enjoyed my 2 hours of heaven with my lovely Therapist, Colleen.

This is one of The Residence Day Spa's many spa packages. This is known as the 'top to tips' package which includes a signature hot oil back, neck and shoulder massage, bamboo body bliss back exfoliation, skin analysis, hydra balance facial, decollete, neck face lift massage and file and polish on the feet! In this package, you can opt for hand file and polish or hand and arm massage! This indulgent package also included delicious coffee and scones served in the pretty 'Rosie Posie Room' - a cute intimate space to enjoy some refreshments after your treatment! Again in this package, you can make the coffee a glass of bubbly if you are celebrating or simply just in the mood for something sparkly!

I had such a fab morning with the girls in The Residence Day Spa and I want to thank them so much for the kind invitation to enjoy their Spring Revival package! I am living in Kildare and didn't know about the Spa so I wanted to tell you guys more about it too!

I can't recommend it enough - there are so many good offers on spa packages and other beauty treatments. It is definitely worth checking out their website for more details www.theresidencedayspa.ie as I have only highlighted some of the treatments that they provide!

I really want to revisit The Residence Day Spa soon and I am already planning to take my Mammy and sister there for my sister's pre wedding preparations - I think it will make for a lovely girly day out! There are perfect packages for Brides to be that will work and what I loved is that they have a private room where two people can have treatments together and there is even a private Jacuzzi in this room!

I cant even begin to imagine a more perfect experience!

Please do check out my Instagram @thestyleflamingos for more on my visit to The Residence Day Spa.

If you need some relaxation or unwinding time then this is the ideal opportunity!

You can contact The Residence Day Spa on (045) 899 774 or email enquiries@theresidencedayspa.ie

Enjoy!

5 ways to transition your wardrobe for Spring Style

Even though it’s still very cold outside and despite the fact we even had snow this week in the Midlands, I am still dreaming of my spring fashion!

I love the softer and lighter colour palettes that we start to see in stores for the new season ahead! It’s nice to see an end to wearing the darker tones and bring out the brighter side of our style.
You can use pieces that you already have in your wardrobe to freshen up any look and today I am going to show you 5 ways to get that ‘spring’ into your step! J

                                              1.  Add a pop of colour

Adding a splash of colour to your outfit will instantly lift it and brighten up those dark and drab days. Although the weather isn’t exactly sun dress appropriate, we can transition our wardrobes simply by playing with colour!
So on Sunday in true ‘Blogger’ style I wanted to photograph my outfit of the day so I stepped outside to capture my white backdrop! J
Here I just added a mustard jacket to a darker animal print skirt and it just makes the outfit look a lot more cheerful!

I was just heading for dinner in the car so obviously if I had to brave this cold weather I would add a cosy polo neck and a nice big scarf and maybe tights too – LOL J

                                              2Wear more animal print

Animal print is everywhere for SS19 fashion – it is almost like a new neutral!! You can wear it in your coats, shoes, handbags, dresses or skirts. If you want to stay on trend this season, get yourself some animal print! I have an article on ‘5 ways to style animal print’ over on my blog now www.thestyleflamingos.com if you want to check that out!

Honestly there is nothing quite like these prints to make a bold fashion statement and really brighten that OOTD (outfit of the day!).
I adore this green leopard print jumpsuit – just had to take a selfie in the dressing room at Marks & Spencers!! J

This is such a statement look and perfect for a nice night out or any spring occasion! The great news its only €60!

3Put a ‘spring’ into your accessories

Add a colourful handbag or bright shoes to give that added dimension to your look! Accessories can really brighten up an otherwise dark or monochromatic look! Add orange or red to your polka dots and just watch your style come to life! Maybe add some bright coloured jewellery to make your look pop! The statement earring is huge this season!

Or take some style inspo from the ever chic Victoria Beckham adding her bright bold colour Hermes handbag to an otherwise neutral toned outfit!

4. A statement print headband

Why not get involved with the headband trend and liven up a plain or basic colour outfit with a lift in your hair accessories. How stunning does Kate Middleton look in her green velvet headband – it just instantly makes her whole look more perfect!

Perhaps try a block colour if you are nervous of the trend at first and for those of you who are braver why not add a statement print to your hair band or head scarf!

I love this chain print one from Penneys – it really gives me such Versace vibes and for only €3!

5Wearing a neutral palette

A few weeks ago I published my article on the ‘#50 Shades of beige trend’ and asked the question ‘is beige the new black?!’ Honestly I think the answer is ‘yes’ especially when it comes to this transitional period in fashion. We can see more beige, creams and other earthy tones popping into our wardrobes! It’s such a beautiful colour palette – so elegant and fresh!

So what better way to bring your clothes to life this season by adding some classic neutral tones to your style!

White is a stunning colour – one which looks perfect in high summer and when the sun makes more of an appearance. Cream or beige is a better option for this in between time before the sun greets us! It looks stunning on a drab March day or on that perfect spring day just like the first day of the month where the sun shone and everyone’s spirits were up!
Stay timeless, on trend and transitional with some earth tones in your coat, your footwear and even in your denim!

Cant wait to see pictures of you transition your style for spring! Enjoy adding the splash of colour!
